MINTO UNITED CHURCH OUTREACH MINISTRIES

Every year Minto engages in a number of outreach ministries that extend to those in our own congregation, to the community of Moos Jaw, throughout this country and around the world. This past year was no different! I invite you to take a moment to read over the list of some of the worthwhile causes and programs that Minto supports. These outreach ministries represent many thousands of dollars that were truly invested in ways that made a difference in the lives of many.

INTERNATIONAL

• Mission and Service Fund (financial support) The United Church of Canada is involved in a wide variety of outreach programs and projects both across Canada and around the world. All donations that are designated for this outreach work are sent directly to the United Church in Etobicoke where this work is administered. Be sure to read "Mandate" magazine to learn of the broad scope of our denomination's outreach programs.

• International Children's Awareness (financial support)
• World Vision (Sunday School and Youth Group - financial)
• Gideons (invited them to do presentations, financial)
• Operation Christmas Child (shoe boxes)
• School Kits for children in Afghanistan (over 100 kits in 2008)
• Fellowship of the Least Coin

NATIONAL

• Mission and Service Fund (financial support)

PROVINCIAL

• Calling Lakes Center and St. Andrew's College (financial and promotion)
• Chinook Presbytery of the Untied Church of Canada
• Telemiracle
• Camp Shagabec/Camp Woodboia (promotion)

LOCAL

• Ina Grafton Gage Home - Moose Jaw (worship services, financial support, volunteers, visiting)
• Local Family &Local Adult (financial support/ reshingling of this family's roof))
• Minto C.A.R.E.S. Center (outreach programs/groups to the community)
• Transition House (financial  and donations)
• Moose Jaw Food Bank (donations)
• Hunger in Moose Jaw (donations and volunteers)
• Pioneer's Lodge, Chez Nous, Capilano Court, Extendicare, Providence Place, Ina Grafton Gage Home (periodic worship services and visitation)
• Nursing Homes (Communion and seasonal services)
• Salvation Army Stocking Fund (financial)
• Community - weddings, funeral, funeral lunches, counseling, hospital visitation, Remembrance Day services at schools and nursing homes
• Joe's Place (promotion, bake table)
• Meal's on wheels (volunteers)
• Making Quilts (for shut-ins in Nursing Homes)
• A.A., Alanon and Overeaters/Undereaters
